Religious fasting is a type of intermittent fasting wherein a person reduces caloric intake on a timerestricted basis (Ahmed, Arun et al., 2020; Grawojer & Home, 2019) (see Table 1). Religious fasts often last several consecutive hours, followed by feasting, and are practiced for several days.
