Just curious – our use and understanding of anything I'd refer to as a "Parent" in Jira was generally limited to a Parent-ticket (Task or Story) with subtasks created (Child tickets). Using Epic to represent a "Parent" seems a little odd, or maybe confusing with parent/child tickets already in use with Tasks/Subtasks.
