Pull #1 spark plug, put your finger in the hole, crank engine over untill compression blows your finger out the spark plug hole. Then check and see where the rotor is pointing, it should be pointing at #1 plugwire on your distributor cap.HTH.

1952 ford 8n 12 volt side mount distributer. I have a 1952 ford 8n tractor with side mount distributor. It will not start. There is fire at the points but but at the plugs.
